Since
we do not want to write a driver for each circulating operating
system, we thought a lot about this problem. That's how InSane
arose.
InSane stands for IntraNet Scanner Access Now Easy
;-)
A system, with which you can trigger the scanner without
software installation from everywhere in your network.
Simply over the everywhere existing Browser.
You may ask yourself how this can work without a driver setup.
Quite simply in principle: The scanner is connected to the
linux-server. On this server is something similar to a webserver
running, which provides the user interface. This interface
sends its commands to the scanner-driver. The scanned data
is than send to the server again. And the server provides
the download of the data via webbrowser.
The operating
system does not play a role.
You can trigger the scanner with everything that has a
browser. With Windows, Mac, Linux or even with your Palmtop.
No
installation of bad drivers on your machine, which could
endanger the dependability of it.
The scanned documents
are provided in your desired format.
Or they can be stored on the fileserver.
Or they can be sent directly to your existing Document
management system.
The fileserver
understands you. No matter if you access it with TCP/IP,
IPX/SPX, Appel talk or Netware
In order to offer a fast, open and stable platform,
we trust in linux machines. But you will take no notice of this,
because the scanned documents will appear in your desired format
(jpg, tiff, pdf, postscript etc..) on the file server of the
linux machine. At this point they can comfortably and easily
be accessed by Windows or Macs.
